I have been teacheing CRTE at 116th Street Elementary for 6 years. I do believe the Lord selected me for this ministry. I would not have thought this would be my calling. I love the children and I love working with them! There has been an average of 30 children each session in our classes. It is such a blessing to plant the seeds and see the children grow in God's Word, and to accept Christ as their Savior. This ministry has also helped me to grow in the Lord (through planning and prayer), and to use the talents He has given me - artistic, organizational skills, puppetry, and teaching. My favorite scripture is Romans 8:28 - "And we know that all things work together for good, to them that love the Lord to them that are the called according to his purpose."

Christian Released Time Education (CRTE) has given me the opportunity to serve my Lord and Savior Jesus in Spirit and in Truth. I was invited by my fellow sister in Christ to help them at 116th Street Elementary School in 2010. I excepted the invitation and joined the team their lead by teacher Pat Gardenhire. My life has not been the same since. God gave me just what I needed. Number 1.) A supportive team of fellow believers that trust and pray for each other to grow deeper in Gods Plan for our lives. 2.) Life's purpose and direction. 3.) Exceeding joy when the students remember the Bible lesson they are taught: along with the Memory Bible verses they are ask to commit to memory. Yes, I have joy, gratitude in my heart, and giving all Praises to the Lord. The students Bless my soul. I stand on God's Word 1st Corinthians 3:7- 8 ( So then neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but God who causes the Growth. Now he who plants and he who waters are one; but each will receive his own reward according to his own labor.) God will give the increase to the students as they grow, and mature as their souls prosperous to Salvation.

Angela Colwell is blessed to be serving the Lord as an Assistant Teacher and Escort. She was previously at Manchester Avenue School for 3 years. Her introduction to CRTE was as a student in Alta Loma Elementary School when she was ten years old. She is married to Pastor Robert Colwell at Calvary Chapel Crenshaw in Los Angeles.
